What inspired the concept of your mix? 

I didn’t have a fixed concept going into this mix. I never really do, I start off with a few tracks that I've been vibing with lately and let myself go along for the ride. This time, I started off with a track by Kotrina— a Peruvian producer— which samples an Afro-Peruvian song that is a staple at any Peruvian family party. I always want to highlight Peruvian sounds, even if no one clocks it when I’m playing. Sprinkling those little sounds here and there makes me very happy as it’s my way of sharing a big part of my identity and the sounds that surrounded my upbringing. From there, I chose other tracks that I’ve been listening to and that have been making me shake my ass :P

Is there a vibe you hope listeners will take away from your mix? What sort of zone do you want them in while listening?

My vibe is always ~ high energy and high emotions ~ what I want to convey with the music I play is my own personal journey. Day to day, I am a Registered Nurse-- my job is quite stressful and I absorb a lot of the daily heartbreaks and struggles of my patients. When I'm playing, I feel like I can let all those emotions out and dance to connect with the public. But yeah, definitely don't listen to the mix if you're trying to relax hehe. 

Are there any highlighting artists or labels from your tracklist that you've been heavily influenced by lately?

Yes! My last few sets have included at least a couple of tracks from Colombian label MUAKK’s latest compilation “XOXO”.
I’ve been finding a lot of joy from tracks that mix techno with samples from old-school Latinx songs that I used to listen to as a kid. Every producer on this track list is pivotal to the emerging Latincore/latin tek scene. Ruido con H, Parzubanil, Fran G, Clementaum, to name a few. I love playing their tracks at parties, it's really exciting to see the mark Latinx producers and DJs are leaving all over the world. 

What's your dream venue or event series (anywhere in the world) you'd want to DJ at? Why?

Polvo Club in Lima, I went to their event with BCLIP and Parzubanil last year and it completely blew my mind . Hiedrah Club de Baile in Buenos Aires, their events look so fun and also all the music that comes out of their label is A+. Also Suzio in London, Latinx Femmes are taking over and I love it!
