Brent Crude Junkies is a relatively fresh band based in Oslo, Norway who write and play their own music, loosely fitting within the rock genre. The sources of inspiration span from the rock- and psychedelia scene in the late 60s to the early 70s as well as to later and contemporary pop and rock. Among these are the Rolling Stones, Syd Barrett and Ennio Morricone, but the music is also influenced and flavoured by other more or less obscure bands and musicians – a majority of them from the British Isles. Brent Crude Junkies would like to invite you to come along on a journey through musical landscapes where they feel free to roam as they please; from vast plains to the wildest peaks it is their intention to give you an experience that defies conventional perceptions of time and space. Thematically the lyrics vary from complete and utter fiction via historical glances to observations of a somewhat more contemporary nature, hence the band’s name. The members are: Odd-Inge Graven (vocals), Espen Paulsen (guitars), Andreas Moe (bass), Marte Georgstad (keys, guitars and vocals), and Daniel Horn (drums and percussion). All born and raised in Northern Norway, the band today lives in a kind of self-imposed exile in Oslo.
