This pursuit has produced numerous albums and taken them to venues across the world, in spotless matching threads, to perform their songs for a dedicated cult following. Their sound, which could aptly be described as a Morricone soundtrack written by Kraftwerk with dead serious classic country vocals, has garnered them placement in television shows such as “Weeds” and “Califonication”. In 2013 Brent Amaker and The Rodeo will release their new full length Year Of The Dragon. The album's 13 all new tracks take square aim at Truth - to spill a weathered wisdom across the current musical landscape. The album also features original cover artwork by Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki.

アメリカのシアトルでブレント（ヴォーカル、ギター)を筆頭に２００５年に結成された。
彼らは、カントリーバンド、というジャンルを嫌い、現代風ウェスタン、カウボーイミュージックと呼んでいる。アメリカの雑誌では、クェンティンタランティーノの映画のサウンドトラックに使われていそうな音楽、アーティストでは、ジョニーキャッシュ、デビットボウイ、Devoなどのようと言われている。

バンドメンバーは結成から何度か入れ替わって入るが、現在は、多様、多彩なメンバー、タイニーダンサー（リードギター）、シンデレラ（ベース）、ベンステール（リズムギター、コーラス）、ブライアンクロウフォード（ドラム、コーラス）、ジャックウィルス（鉄琴）の６人で活動している。

結成当初、カウボーイモーターサイクルクラブ、と呼ばれていて、バイクに乗って登場し、コンサートが始まる、という形を取っていたが、今は全身黒尽くめ、または白尽くめのカウボーイの格好で登場し、コンサートの合間には、ジプシーを思わせるダンサーが登場したり、小さいパブなどで行われる場合は、ロデオバプティズム、ウィスキーの洗礼、（お客並ばせ、ブレントがウィスキーのショットを一人ずつに飲ませる。）などの、今までみた事の無いパフォーマンスが行われる。

彼らのこだわりと言えば、ツアーが始まり次第、年中カウボーイの格好をして行動をとっているという事である。もちろん飛行機、車の移動中、食事中でさえなので、さすがに目立つことは間違いないが、彼らのカリスマ的存在、美術的センスもファンを魅了する一つである。
地元の人気もまずまずだが、色々な州、国を周るなか、有名までとは言わないが、熱狂的なファンが多く、彼らと同じ格好で現れるなども、珍しくない。
主な活動は、国内ツアー、約１５カ所を年に２〜３回、１〜２年に１度、ドイツ、デンマーク、ベルギー、オランダ、ロンドン、他、ヨーロッパを周り、ミュージックビデオ、そして日本ではまだ出てはいないが、アメリカで人気のShowtimeドラマシリーズの”Weeds”、”Californication”、そして、インディーズホラー映画、Jay Cynik 監督、”Punch”にもサウンドトラックとして、曲を提供している。音楽以外でも、コミックブックを制作したり、一番最近のアルバム,Year of the Dragonのカバーを日本の漫画家、岡崎能士さんにお願いするなど、アートの方にも力を注いでいる。
