เราค่อยๆ เรียนรู้ตัวเอง ค่อยๆ เข้าใจไป 
แต่ขั้นแรกง่ายๆ เลยก็คือใจอยากขึ้นมาแล้วรู้ ๆ 
อยากดูก็รู้ อยากฟังก็รู้ อยากได้กลิ่นก็รู้ 
อยากได้รสก็รู้ อยากได้สัมผัสทางกายก็รู้ 
อยากได้ธรรมารมณ์ อารมณ์ทางใจที่ถูกอกถูกใจก็รู้ 
พอได้มาแล้วอยากรักษาไว้ก็รู้ 
อยากให้หมดไปก็รู้ คอยรู้ไป 

เฝ้ารู้เฝ้าดูอย่างนี้บ่อยๆ 
เรียกว่าเราสู้กับตัณหาด้วยสติ 
ทันทีที่เรารู้ว่าจิตอยาก ความอยากจะดับโดยอัตโนมัติ 
เราไม่ต้องไปดับมัน มันดับของมันเอง 
เพราะตัวความอยากนั้นมันเป็นตัวโลภะ 
เป็นตัวโลภ เป็นตัวกิเลส 
เป็นโลภะที่มีกำลังแรง กลายเป็นตัณหา ความอยาก 
ทีนี้ทันทีที่เรามีสติรู้ทันใจที่อยาก 
สติเกิดปุ๊บนี่กิเลสมันทนสติไม่ได้ 
ตัณหาความอยากมันจะดับอัตโนมัติ 
ไม่ต้องไปดับมัน ไม่ต้องหาวิธีต่อสู้กับมัน 
อย่างที่ได้กลิ่นดอกไม้หอม แล้วไปตัดดอกไม้ทิ้งอย่างนี้ 
อันนั้นไม่ได้พ้นตัณหาหรอก 
ทำตามแต่ทำตามในเชิง negative ในเชิงปฏิเสธ 
เรามีสติรู้ลงไปเท่านั้น 
ใจมันอยาก ก็รู้ๆ ความอยากจะดับอัตโนมัติ 
ขั้นต้นฝึกไปอย่างนี้ สู้มันด้วยสติ 
ต่อไปสู้ด้วยปัญญา จะเห็นลึกซึ้งลงไป 
ตรงนั้นต้องเห็นปฏิจจสมุปบาทในขั้นละเอียดลงไปอีก 
พวกเราตอนนี้ยังไม่เห็น ถ้าเห็นละเอียดลงไป เราจะรู้เลยตัณหาเกิดจากอะไร

การรู้ทุกข์นั้นสำคัญ แต่ขั้นแรกนี่รู้ใช้สติรู้ตัณหาไปก่อน 
แล้วต่อไปมันจะค่อยๆ รู้ลึกซึ้งไปถึงต้นเหตุ 
ต้นเหตุที่ให้เกิดตัณหาคือตัวอวิชชา 
การไม่รู้ความจริงในกายในใจของเรา 
แล้วขุดค้นลงไปถึงจิตถึงใจ เกิดปัญญาอย่างถ่องแท้ขึ้นมา 
ปัญญาขั้นสูงตรงนี้ เขาเรียกว่าวิชชา 
รู้แจ้งแทงตลอดในกองทุกข์ รู้ในอริยสัจ 4 
เรียกว่าวิชชาเกิด อวิชชาตาย ถูกทำลายไป ตัณหาจะไม่เกิดอีก
