ความเมตตาเป็นธรรมะที่สำคัญ 
พระพุทธเจ้าท่านสอน 
“เมตตาเป็นธรรมค้ำจุนโลก” 
โลกก็คือหมู่สัตว์ทั้งหลาย 
ถ้าขาดความเมตตาเสียอย่างเดียว 
มันก็เบียดเบียนกัน 

เวลามีความเมตตาเกิดขึ้น 
คนแรกที่ได้รับประโยชน์คือตัวเราเอง 
ใจที่มีเมตตามันนุ่มนวล อ่อนโยน 
มันเบาสบาย มันเป็นกุศล 
ใครเข้าใกล้เราก็พลอยร่มเย็นไปด้วย 
ถ้าใจเราคิดแต่ประหัตประหาร เบียดเบียน 
แย่งชิงทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างจากคนอื่น 
ใครเขาเข้าใกล้เราเขาหวาดผวา หาความสุขไม่ได้ 
ฉะนั้นเมตตาไม่เพียงแต่ตัวเองได้ประโยชน์ 
ผู้อื่นคือสัตว์โลกทั้งหลายได้ประโยชน์ด้วย
