Arising Sons is a Rock band out of Grand Rapids MI.  While being heavily influenced by a love for Jesus they have worked hard to not sound like everything else that is out there. They want their music to be appealing to all people, and not just a "Christian" audience.  

"I wrote my first song when I was around 4 years old. It was what you would expect from a four year old. It wasn't until I was 15 years old when I started really trying to lear how to play the guitar that I started writing music that would appeal to anyone else. 

When I started learning how to play guitar I noticed that everyone else was playing other artists music.  However I wanted to create. I wanted to have something to offer the world that I wrote.  So I learned three chords, G, C, and D and wrote a song.  That was how I would learn the guitar.  If there was a new strumming pattern to learn I would write a new song.  A new chord? I would write a new song.  

At this point I estimate that I have started or finished over 1,000 songs.  I have been writing completed musical compositions for over 20 years now. 

I have grown in my ability to write music. I have studied musical composition and spent a lot of time considering how to write good songs.  I want to keep writing better and better music. 

I hope that the music I have to offer to the world is received as a blessing."
