Mr. Lonely lyrics were written by Bobby Vinton when he was in the army.  Later the song was co-composed with Gene Allen.  Bobby recorded it in 1962 but it was rejected by Epic records and forgotten for 2 years.  Upon Bobby's insistence, his version was finally released in 1964.  It became his most beloved recording.
