The Girl in the House on the Lake

This was the first complete song I wrote. It was recorded in 2005 in Cubase. My guitar was direct and the drums were sampled from a Zoom Rhythmtrak RT-123. I've never played this live, but have a version recorded with a singer.

I came to know "El Decameron Negro" as a piece for classical guitar by the Cuban composer Leo Brouwer. The story originated in West Africa and was documented by a German anthropologist. The story loosely follows the western cannon's Romeo & Juliette: two from battling tribes fall in love, escape together, but ultimately never resolves.
