Una Cattedrale Rovesciata è una Donna è un viaggio, come quello descritto da Costantino Kavafis nella sua celebre poesia Itaca, che Annalisa Pascai Saiu – artista interdisciplinare sarda, performer rituale, cantante e studiosa di esoterismo – ha vissuto negli ultimi anni e ha voluto narrare in questa sua mirabile raccolta di poesie. Un viaggio che ella ama definire “Odissea fatta di immobilità e assenza”.

Ci sono anime che nascono avvolte di luce come un manto ed anime che vengono dall’abisso e passano larga parte delle loro vite a risalire la china, cercando di trarre un respiro ad ogni traversata. Annalisa appartiene a quest’ultimo tipo di anime, simbolicamente orfica, carnalmente Venere; ammaliata dalla morte, si è dovuta sottrarre alla tirannia del suo fascino, per non restarne prigioniera come Orfeo.

Questo suo viaggio è infine la ricerca ed il parziale risultato di un percorso di consapevolezza rispetto all’archetipo che incarna in questa esistenza, in quanto ritiene che non vi sia nulla di più fondamentale, nella intera esistenza, che divenire consapevoli dell’archetipo che incarniamo e che vive in noi.

Here is an hour of music and poetry for wooly times. I hope you enjoy it. It was an idea that came to me when the time change, the election and the weather were all simultaneously getting me a little down. I can imagine it being suitable for washing dishes, folding laundry, listening to on a walk, listening to in the bath. (Please let me know in what context you listen to it, I'd be curious!) Power has been busy in the Viennese underground scene two decades. She was a member of the live improvisations project Bird People, the techno live improvisations duo S.E.P., part of the underground experimental punk band Ausländer, has worked as a music journalist for many years and co-worked on the publication round the viennese underground-scene "AUZine". Brii Power is founding member of the artist and DJ collectives Love Is Strange, Arsyugoslaviae, Pussy Trio or Fatalismus Spunk. 
In 2021 Power founded together with the remarkable avantgarde guitarist Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt (Berlin, Chicago) AfghanistanMonAmour, an avant-garde experimental music duo of visionary magnitude. They collaborated with Käthe Kruse (Die Tödliche Doris/ Berlin) and Black Saturn or Godzilla (bothNew York). AfghanistanMonAmour has been performing live and publishing their recordings on podcasts and musiclabels all over the world since almost two years now.
Power moves between timeless, danceable genre intersections and experimental improvised live sounds. For some time she has been working on a CutUp Loops series. Brion Gysin discovered the cutting technique by chance in 1959 and pointed it out to William S. Burroughs, who was to become the most important exponent of CutUp. Power transfers the system from the word to the sound. For this purpose, loops are changed in speed, layered according to the CutUp technique and rearranged. Torn out of their context and edited beyond recognition, they yield themselves again and overhaul to a different whole that follows its own story. Power uses CutUps, fieldrecordings, voice and vocoder, manipuated odds and ends and creates spherical tones on her self-made theremin.
