BRIAK SOULFUL MIX #XMAS'21

The Black Light Disco Show whip cracked the My House Radio airwaves again with another action packed basket of mayhem! 

This week, our residents Esteban & Goz hosted the show from the BLD sponsored sun terrace on the shores of Lake Guacamole. The chaps have been clearing out the pool shed all week - shifting the chlorine and recycling old deckchairs in preparation for the final throes of summer. Honestly, the work never ends. 

First up is Esteban, who has gone with an eclectic, funky bass-driven affair to tickle your fancy. Expect some upcoming Tropical Disco gems and crackers from the likes of Chewy Rubs, Hotmood, Late Nite Tuff Guy and a few more!

For the second hour, Goz ramps up the tempo a little and oozes a housey vibe, which he seems to be embracing more and more. And boy, do we love it. Tracks from Chuggin Edits, 6th Borough Project, Will Buck and Soirires awaits for those who dare!

Joy*Ride is a monthly event taking place every second Sunday from 2-5pm at Buteco (Grant Park, Atlanta) hosted by Wahine with guest DJs on rotation. Fans of  My Analog Journal  (UK),  Le Mellotron  (FR) and  Khruangbin's marathon sets during the pandemic will enjoy these eclectic 3-hour journeys into the deeper cuts across many genres including rare groove, bossa nova, latin, reggae, funk, psych, jazz, electronica, and beyond.

This month's show was a little bit different - with my good friend and excellent selector Tom Whittaker aka Even Funkier joining me in the studio for a proper back 2 back session. It was an absolute joy to share to share the decks, and a few beers, while covering some serious musical ground across the 2 hours .... we spun a completely off the cuff mix of stuff that we'd like to hear in a dark, sweaty, club... quirky electro disco, uplifting house, afrobeat, soulful house, nu-disco, 90s progressive classics and more!
