HOUND presents the third podcast series mix from @othrmsc .
Coming from the Georgian capital Tbilisi, OTHR is the project
of the young and talented, one of the most prominent local
musicians in the country, Ladouka Ninua. As a resident of
KHIDI Club, he has performed many memorable DJ and live
sets on its main stage since the project's launch in 2016.
With strong connections with his hometown, OTHR’s
involvement in the local community and support to DJs and
producers has left an enduring legacy that has firmly
established him at the forefront of Tbilisi's musical scene.
OTHR’s production displays Ladouka’s diverse musical
development, from his background as a guitarist in metal and
post-punk bands, an award-winning ambient/noise producer,
and to his present characteristic industrial-oriented techno with
punk vocals defined by groovy distorted baselines mixed with
powerful harmonious and cold concrete notes.
With releases on Hound, KHIDI Label, Liber Null, Murder
Records, Persephonic Sirens, and a bunch of promising
forthcoming releases, OTHR is more than set to make an
imprint on Europe's techno scene.

MIND I MATTER is the main project of Paris based artist Théo Ferretti. With his roots in post-punk and black metal, MIND I MATTER blends existentialism, esoterism and brutality with industrial, EBM & techno. Patients with pseudobulbar affect demonstrate pathological laughing, crying, and grimacing, often following little or no stimulation. Spastic weakness of the lower cranial nerve muscles may be noticed on examination, with accompanying dysarthria. In addition to patients with dementia, cerebral infarctions, or trauma, this syndrome may also be seen in patients with upper motor neuron dysfunction, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or multiple sclerosis.

My guest on this show is a former geriatric nurse and a counsellor. She writes poetry and lives in Hove. Alice Purnell OBE is perhaps best known to many listeners as the founder of the Gender Trust, a support organisation for trans people. Before that she had also been involved in co-founding the Beaumont Society, in the mid 1960s. She also founded a ground breaking series of biennial conferences, bringing together international clinicians and stakeholders for the first time in the 1990s to discuss improvements to care for such people. Alice speaks about all that and more at home on the South Coast as she celebrates her 70th birthday
