My version of Pecker Dunne's 'Wexford'. Pecker is probably best decribed as a bard: an Irish musician, seanchaí and legend.

My rendition of Tramps & Hawkers, an old Scottish folk song.

The song was written in the 19th century by hawker Besom Jimmy, but it was passed on to singers involved in the early times of the folk revival by Scottish Traveller Jimmy Macbeath. He used tramp the roads all his working life, in search of farm work and places to sing. He used sing for his dinner at fairs and markets while farm workers were on their break.

Me own great grandfather was a hawker in Doneraile in North Cork.

The 2nd verse was so good I sang it twice...
