“City Dreams”, the third single from Telemakus’ forthcoming release “The New Heritage”,  is a futuristic electronic jazz arrangement inspired by hip hop and new wave jazz. This track bounces between several sections within the composition, making for an interesting journey through sound.The track came together collaboratively, with each musician bringing their own ideas. Telemakus then shaped the pieces together for the first half, and let fellow pianist and arranger Javier Santiago take the helm for the second. Taking roughly one year to create, this track is an amalgam of ideas, progressions, and sounds distilled into a liquid drip of pure jazz funk. “City Dreams” is an epic journey that truly unfolds the last movement before the entirety of “The New Heritage” drops. 

‘The New Heritage’ , out October 13th, represents Telemakus’ lineage growing up in the jazz scene, gigging locally in the Bay Area. Being a self-taught pianist, the artist has a unique gift for harmony which evidently translates into the LP’s tracks as a continuous flow of inspiration. Having found his own sound listening to the likes of Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, DJ Harrison, and Robert Glasper, Telemakus’ has developed a deeply personal style, as he likes to define it, “off-kilter and unique”. Having written and arranged all the album’s instrumental parts, Telemakus joins forces with a host of incredible musicians to paint a series of stunning soundscapes. This is a truly special body of work and we can't wait to unveil it over the coming months.
