Brilliant 60's feel to their music, still modern sound

Guitar riff reminds me a bit of the The Yardbirds' "Heart Full Of Soul". One of my favorite BJM songs.

You guys are fucking brilliant.  Always have been.  Funny thing, I went to see you guys play at Webster Hall in NYC in like 2010 and I lit a joint during probably the fifth or sixth song, passed it to the three chicks behind me, whom I didn't know, and really started to get into the show (BJM was GREAT that night - the only time I'd seen seen the band), and about a minute later a bouncer came out into crowd, shined his big fat flashlight right in our faces, and kicked me and the three young ladies out.  Just like that.  So I saw maybe a third of the show, but it was seizing up to be one of the best shows I might ever have seen.  Alas, I missed the rest.  Most of it.  I wish I had a better story, like when I got kicked out with the three girls, I could say we all went out for drinks anyway and I had sex with two of them.  Or better yet all three.  However, that's not the case.  Nevertheless, BJM is the tits.  Keep on keeping on.  And whatever else you do, stay cool.

The Reverberation Appreciation Society and our friends Fuzz Club Records have teamed up to release the first volume in a new European psych compilation series: The Reverb Conspiracy. The first volume will be released on November 10th 2012, and celebrated by a two day event at Shakewell Arms in London followed by a 2 week European tour.

THE ALBUM

This 180g double LP compilation will be available in a limited, hand numbered edition of 1,000 with deluxe gatefold packaging and artwork from Nonni Dead (from The Dead Skeletons).

Dead Skeletons - Kundalini Eyes

If you ever wondered what’d happen if two best friends who share a collective mission to not take life too seriously spent just as much time soaking up the muddy blues of Mississippi as they did the kosmisch experimentations of West Germany (the pair also play in Krautrock collective Datashock) then Pretty Lightning are your answer. Unsurprising, then, that as often as their sound is indeed full to the brim with crunch, swagger and feedback, they’re also just capable as easing off on that oft-abused accelerator and dealing in something more far hypnotic and drone-like.

The reverberating slow-burner, ‘Greyhound’, is exactly one such moment. Just like the video that comes with it, it’s the sonic equivalent of hitching a long motorcycle road you never want to end–only, as in said visuals, the landscape you’re cruising through happens to be somewhere weird, cartoonish and, true to form, psychedelic-as-hell. The band says of the single: “Greyhound is pure escapism - one fantasy of it, anyway. It’s probably our most pop-pleasing song so far too, even if that’s not the direction we’re generally heading into. If you think that sometimes it´s ok to treat yourself to a fantasy, why not take the imagination of an eternal ride and stick it in a 4 minute ‘pop-song’”
