was about two years into being home, unable to work or do much of anything because of an injury. Disability. I had missed trash day again and the bins were overflowing. My spouse was angry. I was so depressed. I went into my studio, an "out" building on our lot that I had fixed up to practice, play, record and maybe teach lessons again. I played back a blues I was working on, jotted down some ideas and improvised what you hear when you listen to the song, first time through. I was singing at my cat.

This song was a gift from my dead friend Jeff. I was playing one of his songs and it just bloomed out of that goddamn Eb chord. I dunno. Weird. Anyway, it's one of the few songs on otw that is even worth listening to. Buy the album anyway, even if only for the super-douchy usb. You can always just listen for free.

This is nonsense. True to form, these lyrics are complete nonsense. Random nonsense, alternating negative tone, positive tone, then negative again and so on. It started out as a "practice project" that I used to learn recording, mixing, mastering. But, I got a little attached to it, probably because of the ebow parts. I dunno. I kinda hate it now.

This song is about political predation I started to see, beginning in the US, around 2000. It got far worse, in my estimation, around 2010. It's a song I had bouncing around in my cluttered mind for years, but never actually sat down and flushed out until 2010. Or so? I dunno. The final lines "don't place blind faith in black snake politicians" is an overt reference to fossil fuel corporations, their corrupt relationships with politicians in the US and abroad, and corporate capture of the US government. I got the idea from the indigenous legend "Prophesy of the black snake." Pipelines and oil trains, the visible signs as literal power is amassed and America literally divided. Americans, literally divided. Political power isn't as easy to see, but t's just as destructive. More so.

It is what it sound like. As I was bouncing to stereo ("mistakes and all") my drive was dying. First try, second try, third etc etc. By time I got an intact file, the filenames had evolved from "try1" etc to "tries#" etc etc, then finally "0tries2" so that's what I called it, because adding a "zero" (0) at the beginning of the filename makes it easier for caveboy to locate his file in flie exploder.  Then, not much later, there was all that selfs-loathings stuff.  So. Anyway...

This was intended for an album that I never finished. Then my computer died and I forgot all about it. But, I had a bunch of songs and stuff on this one drive and, luckily, that drive survived the computer death. I put that old drive in my new computer, but I never really took account of what all was there.  Fast forward a decade or so...  The new computer died too. Happened recently. That computer was really old but really nice. Fast. It worked really well for a dinosaur computer. Rebuilt and reborn from the ashes of my 1st workstation, I loved that piece of scrap.

 Then... the song must have sat unnoticed for at least six years until I found it yesterday. 

One other version featured mellotron flute. That was my favorite version.  It was pretty good musically, but the vox were not very good. It's just gone anyway... I think?   =j

I'd been so looking forward to the 2016 eclipse, I'd read a s#!t-ton of internets stuff and watched a lifetime worth of documentaries.  Planet was burning. Germinating idea was that Eb chord from the chorus of Jeff Buckley's "Grace.."💙  And I think I remember something about magnetars, supernovae and black holes.  Wormholes or something?  Time warp? Your basic, dopy guitarist, I've been playing all my life. Playing live regularly isn't really feasible for me at this point in time, but I still love making musics. Leveraging pt8 & w^vista installed on a rusty boat anchor, Tapatíos, pet hairs, superglues and duct tapes, I'm working on a 2nd album. But, I need fund for copyrights, publishings and "all that jazz."  So buy somethings if you can.  Limited quantity. Rare. Unique.  Maybe a "splat - off the windscreen"  15gb bamboo (66% less ecocides) USB with album art.  Great for sampls, other musics, pictures or works... just don't use it for espionages.  ;)  (coming soon to a Bannedcamps near EU) Or just slip me a tips through paypals.
