This is the live recording from this year's SUNSET CAMPOUT at Belden Town. This wasn't just another gig for me. I take every performance seriously, however this one took a bit of extra preparation... I meditated, ate organic food the entire weekend, was sober until I got on stage (had a bit of whiskey on stage to calm the nerves ;) ...Basically I put a lot of love into it... Hope you FEEEEEEEL it...or just feel something <3

It's been a wild ride from first having my mind opened to dancing in the desert at the October 1995 Moontribe which changed my life, to being first asked to play a dj set there in December 1998 (and every month thereafter), to this set 16 years later.

This set is one of my personal favorites and is being released in 2 parts.  Here I present part 2 - I will follow with part 1 soon so that they can be listened to consecutively.  Part 2 is more on the dreamy trippy house side and is my favorite part of this set.  What was really fun for me was playing with the different textures and warped melodies and getting them to interact in a melty, dreamy flow.  Well that's how I saw it anyway :)

It's full moon! We are glad to have @Treavor-Moontribe at the controls of our mission 06.

In June of 1993 a small group of friends gathered under a full moon in the Mojave Desert of Southern California. Over 23 years later these gatherings are still going strong and easily the longest running truly underground event of its kind in America, perhaps the world. They call themselves Moontribe and still to this day you will find no promotion for these events. There is no Facebook event for it, there are no flyers on the streets, no posters…no hype! Yet somehow this tribe finds each other under that full moon deep in the desert to dance to hypnotic beats and celebrate life! DJ Treavor Moontribe is one of the founders of these gatherings, one half of the electronica/chill out project @DesertDwellers and a 19 year veteran of Burning Man.

From the Archives : Live at Opulent Temple 2003, (the first) Sacred Dance 'White Party'

2003?  More like Unearthed Arcana.  Why the fuck would anyone care what I played in 2003?  I don't know either, but for the BM musical historians, and cause I wanted a Soundcloud play list of a playa set(s) from every year of Opulent Temple, here it is. A set from from our maiden year, and the first Wednesday night Sacred Dance white party.

We were the Opulent Temple of Kaos at 2:00 & C.  We built a metal open air dome and improvised a skeletal metal DJ booth wrapped in heavy duty plastic wrap.  (It was the beating the equipment took this year that prompted us to build the more equipment shelting 'O Pod' the following year.)

In my head, this was my first big 'playa set' and I prepared for it for days.  I was still a baby DJ, spinning mostly vinyl at BM with 1 or 2 songs on CD.  I imagined how many people I'd be playin these amazing tunes for.  There was like 10 people, lol.  I played early, before John Schiffer who was before Sandra Collins.  All my friends were late coming over in an Art Car.  There's still some moments in this set that stand the test of time.   Progressive house, tribal house, and progressive breaks. From the Archives : Live at Opulent Temple 2003, (the first) Sacred Dance 'White Party'

In my new studio mix series I want to offer some mixes in different genres, and with a little different feel than you might get from a live mix.

I've been exploring tracks I don't play out much or else in a long time, that are not necessary dance-driven but more interesting conceptually...

This first mix is a techno mix which starts gently and escalates quickly before coming back down to a nice close.

It would be a lot to ask a dance floor to have this much change in energy but this isn't for the dance floor necessarily

It's more a reflection of the chaos all of us feel in our lives right now.

I've done a few LiveStreams, all house, and really been dying to play some techno.

This set even started as a livestream, but had some tech issues so I just played for my wife an I, and opened up a bit more musically than I probably would have if live

Anyway, hope you are well out there wherever you are!
