During the coronavirus pandemic, while I was working remotely for the Queens Memory Podcast, my husband and I heard the sound of drumming drifting in through our open apartment window. Needing a break from his computer screen he put on his mask and went to investigate.  On a bridge near our building on the corner of Astoria Boulevard and 33rd street was Crockett Doob smashing his drum kit like his life depended on it. He gave him my contact info and later I set up an interview. This is the story that followed.
