My instrumental cover of Eurythmics' "Here Comes the Rain Again", performed in its entirety on a Korg Pa1X arrangement synthesizer.  I added a drop into a D-min that I had no business doing.  And at the climax, I introduced a synth riff from Eurythmics' "The First Cut".  I had absolutely no business doing that, either.  I own no rights to the song.

If you drop the pitch of Eurythmics' "Wrap It Up", the chorus mates up pretty nicely with Eurythmics' "For the Love of Big Brother".  Same chord progression (not even found in the Sam & Dave original of WIU), even the "bup-bup" backing vocals are found in both songs.  My theory is that FTLOBB was inspired by, and maybe even contains elements from, the tracks recorded for WIU.  Here is a brief demonstration.

Wrap It Up For The Love Of Big Brother

The Blue Nile's "The Downtown Lights", with Annie Lennox's cover version playing a couple of seconds behind, for an interesting call-and-response effect. This was fairly easy because Annie's cover is in exactly the same key and tempo, and has a nearly identical synthesizer arrangement.

The bridge of Eurythmics' "Aqua", but reversed.  Now, the normally-backward sitar and xylophone are forward, and everything else is backward.

Eurythmics' "Julia" features verses for each of the seasons of the year except for summer, which is conspicuously absent.  I think I've discovered a melody that might originally have been meant for a summer verse, but then cut and recycled for other purposes, even in reverse. This clip is in three parts:
1.) I play the verse on a synthesizer, as a reference point, with the flute melody line in the octave that presumably Annie Lennox would have sung, like the other seasons;
2.) A segment of the Julia outro, reversed.  A portion of the verse, minus the beginning, is in the background, played by a flute, an octave higher than Annie's voice would be;
3.) A snippet of the 1984 soundtrack, forward. There's the verse, again, in flute, and with an echoing delay effect.  And also an octave higher than Annie's singing.

Eurythmics' "Julia" - Was there a "summer" verse?

Eurythmics's songs "Jennifer" and "Savage" both use a 1-4-1-4 chord sequence.  That makes it easy to mash them up, Eurythmics vs. Eurythmics.
