Release Info: 
Born in Newcastle in the North of England, a place steeped in dance music heritage, JOBE was initiated into the club scene at an early age. Despite ‘getting involved’ most weekends, and surrounding himself with other music heads, it wasn’t until his close friend was given turntables for Christmas that he realized he wanted to embark on a career in music. 

Many years later, with countless hours of vinyl hunting under his belt, he was DJing in the local bars and clubs of Leicester where he attended university. Despite enjoying his years in Leicester, recognizing it as the place he truly evolved musically, he longed for more and decided to take the right steps to progress further in the scene. JOBE wanted to pursue the full time career, however he realized that the scene had evolved over recent years, and in order to play at the more prestigious venues it was vital to have a strong output as a producer, as well as a DJ. However at this point, he had never even considered music production, but recognized it as the most pivotal step to becoming a successful DJ. So he made the bold decision, which seemed counterintuitive at the time, to step back from the decks and spend the next few years learning music production.

Fast forward to current times we can say JOBE has succeeded in his plans, as by now he can proudly say he's been signed to labels such as Sincopat, Connaisseur, Chapter 24, Selador, Movement Recordings and now.. Manual Music!

Siege Of Syracuse is his Manual debut EP on which we see the UK producer unleash three intense pieces of work, bordering between progressive house and melodic techno. A big EP by one of the fast rising stars of electronic music!

We Need Crack’s made the more subtle remix of the two. It starts out dreamy which is strengthened by a kind of vocal-like pluck. Although of its dreamy vibe the track has something clubby as well. A light arpeggio slowly works towards a break after which the bassline is finally introduced. The moment they make you yearn for so badly. The arpeggio works in perfect harmony with the bassline as if it is floating on the waves of a deep sea. A perfect addition to this great EP!

More Brazilian magic from Plano B with two tracks from Sonic Future featuring remixes from Akken and Rancido.

With tracks signed to a number of influential labels, live artist Sonic Future is becoming regarded as something of an underground hero in his native Brazil and beyond. Opening with the groovesome ‘Rwanda’ skippy synths modulate and marinate amongst a rich percussive tapestry reaching fever pitch on the drop. 

On remix duties, Rancido keeps it deep and stripped back adding an extra level of off-kilter weird with a killer theremin lead line, while Akken drops the tempo with a smooth deep house ride adding vocal pressure midway to enrich the strong original motifs Rounding out the pack is another original track.

‘Palm Mute’. More visceral that Rwanda, the tribal back beat is punctuated by groovy rock guitar licks and electronic stabs.

PREMIERE: Sonic Future - Rwanda (Rancido Remix) [Plano B Records]

An iconic artist at the summit of the underground dance scene for over two decades, Christian Hornbostel shows no sign of letting up as he debuts on Particles with his "Ampere" EP.

A seasoned world traveller, performing across the globe, the German artist's production career has seen him work with some of the industry's finest imprints. 2,000 production credits sit proudly next to Christian's name as his work for Natura Viva, Phobos and the renowned Kling Klong Records has found him supported by the DJ elite, from Pan-Pot and Alan Fitzpatrick to Wally Lopez and Martin Eyerer.

The title track is filled with an intricately programmed fizzing rhythm that is full of dynamic energy. A wonderful analogue lead line soon finds its way into proceedings, rising and falling in filtered glory as it swims across the stereo spectrum in wonderful delay-panned fashion. Building via a stripped back breakdown, a third movement full of verve and vitality bristles with rhythm and melody in striking fashion. Partner track, "Interval" continues the strong beat and rhythmic framework of its predecessor. A huge kick provides an anchor for a wonderfully choreographed melody to hove into aural view in rippling arpeggiated fashion. Undulating throughout, an emotive bass growl makes its presence felt with poise and grace before combining with rhythmic components in the third movement to wondrous effect.

Dutch duo, Huminal, have found themselves central to the Particles and Proton Music story. Regulars on both labels, Paul Deetman and Jelle Jansen have delighted with a string of original productions and remix material that have lit up both labels since a Particles debut in August 2014. The "Acrophobia" and "Pocket Universe" EPs have provided rich entertainment, while 2015's "Knocking on the Sky" and 2017's "We Dwell in the Past" hit the heights on Proton Music. Also finding a home on the likes of Einmusika, Mango Alley and ICONYC, Huminal return to Particles with a supreme interpretation of "Ampere" that reinvents with new rhythmic cadence and rasping bass progression. Filtering into a vibrant melodic delivery, new production material creates a pulsating motif and counterpoint melody that bristles with energy, erupting into bass glory post-breakdown to mesmerising effect. Typically ingenious, Huminal work their magic once again.

Croatian born, Stockholm based producer, Bonaca, is an artist with a rich musical heritage to his name. Through his distinctive "dark and progressive sound" he quickly lit up the dancefloors of his adopted Swedish home while a production career that began in 2015 quickly blossomed with a plethora of releases signed to the likes of Balkan Connection, Motek Music and Pole Folder's Reworck. A regular across the summer festivals at Bloque and Electric Dreams Open Air, Bonaca now debuts on Particles with a wonderfully crafted interpretation of "Interval". Building in intensity using the beautiful arps so key to the original, Bonaca complements Hornbostel's production by adding a seismic bass line that booms across the lower frequencies. Hypnotic in execution, the mesmerising melodic flow continues into a beatless breakdown as rhythm and melody build once more in the third movement to create an exquisite remix.

"Ampere" finds Christian Hornbostel fully charged with remixes from Huminal and Bonaca.
