I originally went to the studio to re-mix some of my older tunes. My friend, and producer Mark Hattersley was pulling up the tracks, and I was playing this little tune on my el-cheapo-parlor guitar. He was like, 'hey Bri-what's that?" It's this little gospel kinda negro-spiritual tune that wrote itself about a year ago, at 6 in the morning. Mark goes "We're recording that!" He transposed my guitar parts to piano, we did a couple of takes, added some B-3, hand percussion, and  neo-gospel harmonies: "new track-go, new track-go... and a few hours later it was done. If you listen closely at the end of the chorus, you can hear what sounds like a pew creaking... it's not, it's me leaning off the chair. We kept it. Hope you like the tune. -Brian
