Drawing inspiration from classic blues artists like Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, and Skip James, and from contemporary acoustic singer/songwriters like Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, and Tallest Man On Earth, Gallagher writes music that tends to combine genres. He steals from the blues it's structure, it's raw simplicity, and it's unapologetically honest sensibility. He favors acoustic performances because of their unfiltered sincerity. All That's Ahead represents a musical collaboration between Gallagher and his wife, world-renowned singer/television star Megan Hilty, whose voice is heavily featured on the record. It reflects on the familiar theme of relationships at their most emotional moments; euphoric beginnings and ill-fated demises.
