Awoke in the middle of the night to what sounded like a dinosaur. James Kydd explained that a hippo tried to challenge an older bull, to ill results. No reverb is added to this, it's simply the reflection off the river.

Recorded by Brian House (brianhouse.net, @brianhouse) for the Okavango Wilderness Project. These sounds are in the public domain and may be downloaded and used for any purpose.

Equipment used: Sound Devices 702 digital recorder with Sennheiser 418 stereo shotgun microphone (M/S). Post-processing in Logic Audio (editing, noise reduction, EQ, limiter). Format: 48khz 24-bit WAV.
