I watched "Dead Poet's Society" a long time ago and decided to watch it again because I remembered really liking it.  The lyrics of this reference two of the quotes used in the movie from Henry David Thoreau and Walt Whitman.  So if you feel like there's a connection, there is.  The title, in fact, is a reference to W.W.'s "Oh Me, Oh Life", where he writes ..."the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse".  I also reference H.D.T. who states, "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation".

If you could help me out with the genre that'd be good.  I'm always terrible with genres.  For now it's going to be Acoustronic Trap Guitar.
