Nostalgia-fueled insomnia and a compulsion to take more risks creatively has produced an eclectic mix of music and noise. I’m calling it “The Jambles” after a particularly wistful bit of speculative fiction. Slow burns, meditative expanses, occasional lively eruptions—it’s a soundtrack for reflective scheming.

The Jambles

A live experiment with semi-autonomous software instruments reinterpreting my Diffraction/grating piece. These seven timbres—corresponding to the common ROYGBIV of the visible spectrum—weaved in and out of the soundscape while real-time visualization translated the sound back into a color projection. Seven colored, triangular prisms monitored the activity of each instrument with a single large triangle above in the blended "color" the audience was hearing at that moment.

Parity Party!

Solo live set recorded on Oct 5th, 2018 at The Arts Club of Chicago as part of the public programming for "The Playhead of Dawn" — a collaborative sound & data installation with Jenny Kendler.

This set begins with an excerpt of the 24-hour-long, 4-channel audio piece installed in the garden of the Arts Club. It then quickly (d)evolves into a series of experimental musical pieces created from the data and sound present in that piece.
