I recently developed an obsession with an island in the Arctic Circle called Jan Mayen. It's got mountains, glaciers, lakes, lots of birds and an active volcano! As soon as I became obsessed with the island I became obsessed with writing a piece of music inspired by it, to the point where I could think of little else until it was done. Now that it's done I can rest, until the next musical idea consumes my very soul.

Well we're safe again for another year, the Goat Child has been appeased by our disco song, but why did we take so many risks? Why did we play a genre we are so unfamiliar with, sometimes it felt like it was turning into some sort of off tempo country song. And why didn't we work on the song all day instead of waiting until the evening?
   Anyway, at least we're safe now, until January 26th next year, when it all begins again!

I watched the Perseverence Rover land on Mars yesterday, I can't wait to learn what new information it teaches up about Mars. It's also carrying a helicopter called Ingenuity, so we will soon witness the first time a helicopter has ever flown on another planet!
