Old The Times, A Friendship & Service Set.


After an inspiring visit from my blood brother, Alexander Longstaff, we’ve managed to set up an incredible DJ booth in the rural heartland. This setup, featuring two massive old-school loudspeakers suspended from the roof of the southwest gallery, was a collaborative effort with my cousin Mark Edwards over a decade ago.

This past weekend, my dear friend and fellow DJ from the lands of Guatraché, La Pampa; Lucas Ventimiglia, graced the fields with his presence. He came to breathe life into one of his sets, utilising the DJ Booth Simulator crafted by my brother.

As we mixed under the glow of the setting sun and the moon, nostalgia for our dear friends Gonzalo, Ezequiel, and Lihuel filled the air. In their honor, we raised our spirits.

I’ve titled this set ‘Friendship & Service’ to capture the essence of willpower expressed through acts of kindness for friends and family. It’s an energetic progressive house set that occasionally ventures into techno, designed to uplift and energise, no matter when you listen.

This marks my 23rd live-recorded DJ set -inspired by my brother, my cousin and my best friends- and skilfully mixed using Traktor DJ Pro 3 and a Pioneer DDJ-T1 controller on February 23rd, 2024, amidst the scenic pampean-grassland fields. It also includes an untitled gem produced entirely by my brother. It is the track just before we surrender to the end!
