Flying Without Wings

Firstly, apologies if this is breaking anyone's copyright.   I found the backing track somewhere nd thought it would be fun to play over.  

This is an exercise in picking dynamics. There's a feature on my Boss GT-001 which isn't really covered in any of the online reviews of this device.  You an set up  two channels on it, A and B. So far, so what?  You can set the GT-001 to autmatically change channels based on picking dynamics.  So, I thought I'd try this.   Gentle picking goes to a 'Twin Reverb' clean channel with no delays and digging in goes to a 'Soldano + delay' channel.   Both are then brought together to go through some light chorus and reverb.  All the effects and guitar sounds came from the Boss GT-001.   The changes in tone you hear are down to gentle then aggressive picking technique being used. 

It's possible to programme the switch over point on the GT-001 and to programme the relative volumes of the two channels are they are summed back together.   I need to spend more time playing around with the realtive crossover points to get this worked out fully.

A Minor Christmas Melody

This is my home recording studio song dumps from my semi-converted loft.  I used various DAWs, starting with Pro Tools then moved to Studio One. Instruments wise I have a bass, a few electrics, an acoustic guitar, V-Drums (TD1-K), M-Audio and Arturia keyboards and Focusrite and Samson CO3U mics for vocals.

The earlier tracks are likely incomplete as they are just ideas I had at the time. I only had headphones at that time to use for mix and master so they will likely sound a bit crappy on other systems. Later tracks should either be complete or near complete (minus vocals) and should be mixed and mastered better.
