The song is sung in Dholuo, an ethnic language spoken by the Luo people who, majorly, reside along the shores of LakeVictoria (Kisumu, Migori, Homabay, Siaya Counties in Western Kenya)

The song is sung in the style of BENGA and is in praise of a female lover. It explores the beauties that the lover, and her love, bring forth, and offer, to the relationship.

Recorded history indicates that Benga Music, Kenya's foremost and most popular genre of music, initially, came from the above-mentioned counties before spreading to other counties within Kenya and to other countries like Zimbabwe and Congo.
