This piece was originally curated as a sound art installation for an exhibition at RMIT, for students who participated in an Art Study Tour across Japan. The piece reflects upon the experiences of my first time in Japan, where we stayed in small villages, art islands and big cities. I collated sounds recorded from my time in Japan on Ableton, organising them into 3 seperate tracks that I later recorded onto 3 MP3 players. 2 of the MP3 players floated in water, and one was placed in a watering can. The different timbres of the MP3 players within a concrete room bounced around uniquely. This gave the audience a chance to explore the sounds in their own way, walking around looking at the other pieces, sitting closely or a far. 

Artist Statement:
"Water has a cultural significance within Japan. Water purifies. Water is a place of unity — where communities gather. Streams and rivers are symbolic of the energy and flow of life. Walking around Japan, water was everywhere I looked. I took the time out of the busy days to stop and record the beach, the rivers, and the communities around them. These recordings gave me a chance to absorb and reflect on the days within Japan.
Taking influence from the practise of Ma, this 30 minute piece invites you to walk around the space, sit down within the space, and make the space your own. Take the time out of your day to sit and reflect."
