John's debut single "Right Now" goes live on all platforms from the 22nd of December. 
Right Now was written about the republic of Kiribati. A small nation of islands located both on the equator and the anti meridian making it the only place in the world that is in all four hemispheres. 
The lyrics are a calling to trust the real you and push aside the outside doubts and conformities that stop you from doing what you know you should. Escape the stress of modern times, scream out your frustrations and embrace the real you.
 
It is predicted that in 12 years Kiribati will no longer be above sea level and all 100,000 natives are already under going refugee migrations to Australia, New Zealand and other main land countries.

Time To Think

Love Letters is taken from John's debut album "Chasing My Grace" a beautifully crafted song with a daydream soundscape. Recorded through the flagship 73' Neve console at Roundhead Studions in NZ the analogue atmosphere of the album is especially highlighted with the delicate depth of this track.
In Love Letters, John sings as if composing a letter to a new love, pointing out the difference between taking the time to write out your true feelings with a pen and paper and how much more considered the sentiment is compared to the quick response reactions to instant messaging via social media. 

John also tells the love that he understands the past is playing a part in how they are holding back from each other. It isn't easy but learning to love again without your past dictating your reactions is one of the greatest things you can learn. Forgiving yourself so you can love somebody new.

New Indie Folk Update - August 7, 2020

Bridge* started out in Oxford in 1997 as a duo of Colin MacKinnon (vocals, guitar, keys) and Ed McClements (drums, bass, guitar, production), recording three albums; "The Depths of The Sea", "Drowning by Numbers" and "Helen of Troy". The line up expanded in 2002 to a live 5-piece with the addition of Simon Hunt (bass, BVs), Bruno Muellbauer (keys, BVs) and Adrian Breakspear (guitar, BVs, production). This line-up recorded the "So Sue Me" EP prior to disbanding in 2004. As astutely observed by reviewers at the time, Bridge seemed to sit outside the trends of the time. The now defunct national Making Music magazine noted of Helen of Troy in April 2001:"But whilst melodic folk-prog might not sound that appetising, what this album lacks in all-new millenium, baggy arsed togs, it more than makes up for in very nicely realised acoustic-based experimental chops"With Oxford's Nightshift Magazine stated in December 2003:"Bridge sit out on a limb from every other band on the Oxford scene by dint of existing outside of any kind of trend or genre you care to throw at them. There's a rich celtic vein running through Colin MacKinnon's singing and songwriting, but the traditional sounds are forever cut through with the eerie spectre of gothic foreboding or new wave edginess, most notably on this heartbreaking ballard [Harvester] that somehow undermines Steeleye Span's trad folk with Magazine's synthetic New Wave."
