I'll Be There

Bright Night Alaska is a music group out of Columbus Ohio.  The group is comprised of Justin Ranly on vocals, rhythm/fill guitar, Matt Lefeld on lead guitar, piano, synth and James Guest on Bass Guitar.  The group was formed roughly 3 years ago on a whim to start recording some previously written and unrecorded guitar riffs. 
The project started very simple and unassumingly until the music started to add up to the idea of a potential band.  Starting with only Justin and Matt Bright Night Alaska began recording at Matt's apartment home studio.  With a trove of songs they both agreed to search out a studio to translate the songs from home hobby into real production.
Vaughan music studios in Columbus became the bands home for the next year and continues to the present day.  
Recording all parts barring drums which were performed by Ed Avery Jr. a session player and instructor at the studio, all instruments, vocals and synth parts were performed by Matt and Justin.  With material recorded and mixed the search began for members to play the music in a live setting.
Enter James Guest from a previous band that Matt had played in.  James is an accomplished bassist bringing a tidal wave of enthusiasm and tireless effort to the groups makeup.
The group is currently in preparation to begin playing live shows in Columbus and surrounding areas.  The aim of the band is to continue to make music that evokes emotions to connect with the listener and take them on a short journey with each track.
