Trent gave me the original track he wrote with Nynex and I fell in love with it immediately! I had been writing a lot of “quirky” tracks for the past year or so, and wanted to write something a bit more sentimental. I was thinking about relationships and how when they are falling apart, it feels like a prison sentence sometimes. I came up with the concept for the lyrics in this context. Much to my astonishment, instead of promoting the record, I spent most of my time explaining the dictionary definition of the word “AMNESTY” to most people I came in contact with! Oh Well.....
