An evening chill so delicate 
the soft hairs on my neck stand up
 wet grass like a wet kiss 
on my cheek 
I sit up slowly
 blink my eyes open
 I don’t know when
 but the sun has barely set
 yet this twilight seems unending 
The undergrowth, the earthy smell 
it’s quiet here, its oh so still
 the first firefly has come alive 
The first stars will soon arise 
unwise perhaps but I
 start to walk out of the glade
 into the woods, unafraid
 Im not afraid

such strange creatures , luminous
 walk beside me as my friends
 Half moon rises bright and bold 
Silver stream, mosaic gold 
wise old oak, tree wild armed crown 
By the roots, a narrow slit 
starts to open like a mouth
 invites me into it
 I descend into the dark
