"Horizon" was inspired by an airplane view of a beautiful Tennessee sunrise after my recent move to Nashville. By using air travel as a metaphor, it celebrates those with the courage to chase their dreams in spite of naysayers and nonbelievers.

Rome began as a series of sad poems. It is about my move to Nashville and all of the emotions that came along with it. It became what it is today after I was doing better and found these poems in my notebook. I decided that I still wanted to tell the story of my struggles, but make it into an uplifting message.

My hope for this song is that it can help someone get through a bad day, week, year, etc. You are more than your mistakes, doubts, and struggles, and it's not a lack of bad days, but the hope for better ones that will keep you going until you reach your dreams. It doesn't matter how many times you fall down, as long as you get up one more time.

Rising Country/Pop starlet Brina Kay was always destined to be an entertainer. From learning to play the violin in kindergarten to musical theatre, dance and eventually songwriting, it would be easier to list the things that she can't do or isn't willing to try. Brina has since been featured in numerous publications and news outlets, including Chicago's Daily Herald and WGN News, and has been regularly featured on iHeartRadio country station Chicago’s Big 95.5.   Most recently, Brina was voted 4th place for Artist of the Year (alongside Gabby Barrett and Miranda Lambert) and 2nd place (to Kelsea Ballerini) for Music Video of the Year in The Women of Country's Best of 2020 Awards.
