Voc Mic caught so much of the drums especially cymbals - it was really tough mixing vocals with everything when the cymbal bleed matched the same dB as vocals. Had to experiment with transient shapers and limiters. First draft, we'll see if I can get the mix sounding better another time

- deleted extra bass track, now it's just the sub bass
- EQ the snare
- louder kick
- switched out the Pulsar Smasher on the vocals for the ``1176LN
- took gate and transient shaper off of the vocals
- added more mids on bass
- added high shelf and gate on the toms
- added high shelf on guitar
- replaced rough rider on guitar bus with izotope neutron 3 
- added a 1/4 delay on vocal bus to add more stereo spread

Did some song writing tonight and fairly happy with how this is turning out!

Last upload had just the chorus. This is probably closer to final layout of song

Ughhhhh so hard to feel out the song without vocals!!! I feel like all of my instruments leave no room for the vocals to breathe or get a feeling / idea out

I have no idea why : it was so hard to focus today. every time I hit record I could feel my brain space out. what was so easy for me to play yesterday, felt almost impossible today

it's really hard getting old - in the sense of resiliency. I can still get back up and try again, i just notice the small increments in how long it takes for me to do so.

I was tired yesterday and low on energy

a lot easier recording today 

I played 2 bass parts perfectly. as I was doing a little amount of editing on it to really hit, I heard a few parts I could play differently to hit harder 😭 I spent like an hour playing the 2 parts perfectly and doing a slight bit of editing before scraping the takes all together

I held my breathe and deleted the tracks to initiate full commitment. what I recorded after wards sounded 100x better!!!!!

was distracted while working on this - but still made progress

this will either be prototype off the final bass or the actual final bass

i’ve realized i’m very critical of everything i play & sometimes don’t really add to the song & will even take away due to my desire of not just sticking with a take

editing guitars tomorrow, hitting drums, doing some more editing and maybe vocs tomorrow?

bass rendition I'll be playing for xmas 2025 at my church. recorded for reference, not perfect but I listened to this song for the first time today and I hated the bass line and rewrote it so it harmonizes and grooves with the band bc I'm based and christ pilled

did some light mixing - found some areas where I had to edit but too lazy to edit it as I know it would turn into a rabbit hole. lots more 'lite' mixing tomorrow to leave room for vocals
