Piss Poor in Paradise was inspired by the repetition and banality of the capital’s coffee shop chatter; house values, ‘fabulous’ industries and how great a newly sanitised London had become. It was recorded whilst the city lost its music venues and shut its nightclubs, said hello to its property developers and goodbye to its artists, and left those who stayed shell-shocked struggling to stay afloat.
