Chicago born and bred DJ, Producer Joseph Manumaleuna aka DJ Hyperactive needs little introduce to those versed in the history of Techno.

As one of Daft Punk’s “Teachers” and “brother of the humble” according to Resident Advisor, his contributions to the underground continue to span generations.  Honing his skills in the highly influential scene and sound of Chicago in the early 90s, DJ Hyperactive gained instant international recognition and has since gone on to play the most legendary and lauded events and venues over the last 20 years, such as Orbit / Leeds, Liquid Room / Tokyo, Love Parade / Berlin, Shelter & Smart Bar / Chicago, Interface / Los Angeles, Movement / Detroit, Basement & Output / Brooklyn, Tresor & Berghain / Berlin and the list doesn’t stop there.

Also over the course of his career, he has produced over 100 remixes and original tracks, including classics such as ‘Venus’ & ‘Wide Open’ / Missile, ‘25HRs’ / Droid, “Music Box/ ‘4Trk’, Reptilian Tank & Chicago’ /Contact, Drop Bass, Communique, Hybrid, Truncate, Figure, Plus 8, CLR, Blank Code, Impact Mechanics, Illegal Alien, to name a few.  

DJ Hyperactive returned to Chicago 2013 to reconnect with his family and musical roots. His story continues with the difference being the experience and perspective that only a true veteran can possess.

DJ et producteur, Alex Mendes a développé très tôt sa passion pour la musique électronique en jouant au Nordstern (Bâle) et à Terrazzza (Zurich). En 2023, il fait preuve de maturité musicale en sortant sur Wefine Records et en créant son propre label, Yucatec. L’éclectisme prime avec sa musique portée par des synthétiseurs et une batterie qui se manifeste de manière vibrante sur « Space Like Me », son titre récemment signé sur Cod3 QR, le label de Laurent Garnier.

Alex se sent aussi bien en studio que sur scène. En matière de production, Alex gravite vers la musique entraînée par des synthétiseurs et des batteries, toujours tirée de sa propre imagination, lui permettant de raconter une histoire dans chacun de ses morceaux. C'est un véritable passionné de musique qui trouve son épanouissement dans le monde aux multiples facettes de la musique électronique. La passion contagieuse d'Alex pour la musique électronique est palpable. Il aspire à partager sa créativité avec le monde à travers des performances scéniques énergiques et des productions originales qui repoussent les limites de la musique électronique.

David Castellani, 1/2 of the Mia Wallace project, delivers a live techno modular performance for today's Guest Mix.

Mia Wallace is the Chicago-born creation of David Castellani and Michael Azrikan. Italian-born, Castellani spent the early parts of his career immersed in musical theory, audio production and percussion performance, traveling down the funk, jazz and underground hip-hop genres. Azrikan— who moved from the U.S.S.R.when he was 10 year old — set down a techno tail spinning vinyl and DJing raves in the late-90’s. Joined together with an addiction for darkened dance beats and a passion for hybrid live performance, David Castellani and Mike Azrikan create a spine-tingling and sinister sound that stands outside the techno umbrella.

Mia Wallace takes listeners on a stormy voyage of chilling chords and unchained beats in each live hybrid performance. Intertwining analog synthesizers, hardware controllers, aboriginal didgeridoos, live drum pads and nightmare-inducing vocals, the duo leads listeners through an unearthly experience that makes your heart race and blood thicken. Listeners can expect to shed their skins and undergo a morbid metamorphosis that keeps them dancing well past the moonlight. As haunting as the atmosphere their beats are brewed in, Mia Wallace can be found behind dimly lit booths around the globe unleashing their signature techno sound to heads alike.

As they continue to travel the globe, the new group leaves crowds in wonder delivering unforgettable performances night after night.
