SERVALAN is the latest project of Pat Stormont and Gavin Castle. 

 
You might have caught Pat or Gavin causing a stir at Melbourne institutions such as Honkytonks, Deep 11, Pony or at one of many underground warehouse parties.  They were behind the Deep Chord club night playing live shows as Foal and involved in other collectives like Messy Creations. Their new sound has morphed into a analogue-driven improvised, spaced out deep techno.

Each of the 6 samples for round 50 were provided by a member of our committee. Check out what we had to say about them!

Roz - "Outer Space inspired my sample mangle and was created with the assistance of the JSON weather max for live patch.”

Callum - "A Synthesised fall with sine and saw harmonics, flanger, reverb, all layered with a bass drone that pitch bends into a field recording."

Matt - "A synthesised and heavily processed synth patch from my Nord keyboard, layered with a rhythmically altered field recording of birdcalls."

Phoenix - "This sample was created using recorded sawtooth waveforms from the Minimoog Model D synthesiser (1970). It is a single sustained note tuned to middle C."

Ben - "A Krell patch made on the Make Noise 0-Coast, add reverb and delay for instant sound track."

Cat - "Tibetan singing bowl tarnished by distortion and lost in the translation of time stretching."

We really hope that everyone is enjoying the Transmission series and that we can continue to share and celebrate incredible minorities for a long time to come with this series as well as further ventures in the future. For our 21st mix of the series we get to bring you this special mix from one of Australias favorite downtempo DJs and producers, OK SURE. 

OK Sure has been infatuated with electric music since the age of 13 and has never shown signs of slowing down or stopping. In her most recent form, OK SURE brings a kinetic combination of dark, mood and melodic electronic music that seems tailor designed for the dance floors of Rainbow Serpent, Rose Quartz, Arcadia and Let Them Eat Cake. In  2018, OK SURE released her debut album ‘Pleomorphism’ and since has continued her incredible DJ work as well as creating incredible mixes for a plethora of amazing artists. File this one under downtempo, industrial, dark melodic electronica, techno, deep house and . . . whatever.
