I thought the shook remix was great, but I played it one day at 126 bpm and I knew it had to be done. I slapped some new drums in there, beefed it up a bit, and added lots of little odds and ends (sweeps, cymbals, filters, eq, panning etc). I also changed the arrangement a bit.

I actually created this remix back in 2018 and was unsure of publishing it, as I couldn't quite get the vocals time-stretched to my liking. However after hearing the news that Jim Weatherly, the song-writer of this song, had passed away on February 3rd 2021, I decided it was silly to make a remix and keep it in the drawer. It's not perfect - the time-warp on the vocals has some artifacts at some places, especially during the faster bits. If I had spent some more time on it perhaps it could have turned out a little bit better, but after hearing of Jim's passing, I just wanted to release the track as a tribute to his work.

I also realize that I haven't published a track in QUITE some time, so if you still follow me here, THANK YOU! I am still tinkering with audio every now and then. I'd actually like to get back to releasing a track a year or something. No promises, but I AM still here, AM still making music. But for now, I'm just glad that I can put a track out after such a long hiatus. I am also SO HAPPY to see that my Le Freak remix has surpassed 100,000 plays! So thank you to my fans and friends over the years for all of your support.

It's 2024 and I am back! I'm currently working on my first original EP as well as several new remixes. Stay tuned folks, there could be a lot coming in the next few years! Thanks for the continued support and love, especially for my Chic remix - that's turned out to be such a hit even to this day and I couldn't be happier.
