Piano Day is a celebration of all things piano. The instrument, the strings, the wood, the music, the keys, just about everything that makes this wonderful musical instrument a joy to play & listen to. If you don't know about Piano Day, it's the 88th day of each year. There are 88 keys on a piano, hence the time frame. I partially improvised this piece & had the front off my acoustic piano, so you can hear occasional glissandos on the strings. I called the piece "Togetherness" because piano music has made me friends from all over the world. Music really is the global language & I hope you can enjoy this tune as much as I loved composing it!

Written and recorded over 2 days in South East London, ‘Carried’ is a collaborative EP from violinist Fiona Brice, cellist Tony Woollard and composer/producer Jim Perkins. The project began as an antidote to the sometimes laborious academic tradition of composing, scoring, revising, rehearsing, recording, editing and producing music. 

Each piece was created without score or prior preparation, relying on instinct, discussion and collaboration, with a focus on capturing the energy and essence of an idea whilst it is still fresh. 

The result is a suite of 5 emotive, meditative and distinctive pieces combining drones, elements of minimalism and chamber music with textured harmonics and the occasional melodic line. ‘Carried’ honours the spontaneity and spark of a new idea and nurtures it, creating a deeply engaging and cinematic sound.

Brock Hewitt is the founder of Stories in Sound Studios based near Toronto, Ontario. He is currently working out of Canada after interning at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions, which was an integral part of his development as an aspiring soundtrack composer in the early years. Brock focuses on creating powerful music that seeks to replicate the depths and intimacies of human stories and emotions. Each composition is hope-filled, story-driven and intentionally crafted. Some compositions are rooted in simplicity, harnessing raw, vulnerable beauty.
