I started the music for this song using Acid Pro back in 1998 and had some ideas for lyrics but never really completed them until one day many years later I found the track and played it for Michelle.  She helped out with some awesome verses and then the song slept for another 10+ years.  I decided to start releasing some songs that I have created over the years but never officially released.  I will release them as singles on SoundCloud and then as a complete CD later titled - Tracks From The Vault.

Stalker

Born and raised in Houston, Texas by old fashioned but fun-loving parents, Brock Wilson gravitated towards music and country music in particular in a very natural way. Aside from the line of musicians in his family tree, Brock was surrounded by close family friends who not only shared their love of performing but also supported his own. His first guitar was a high school graduation gift given to him by his brother, Chuck and friend Mike Jones. He says it’s nothing fancy – an Alvarez Regent, but it still hangs on the wall in our home like a trophy. No, you just can’t criticize a man’s first guitar . . . it’s the harmony to his soul.

So, like I said, music was an early factor, and what’s a music loving Houston teen to do but DJ? So he did. Partie Crue was Brock and Chuck’s brainchild and kept them both busy in Houston nightlife for a while. It also altered the structure of the Wilson household; the dining room became a studio when Brock’s collection of music equipment outgrew his bedroom. Knowing his mother, I wondered how he was able to swing this one. Then he regaled me with the tales of the house parties his parents would host, and it made perfect sense. If his momma loves anything, it’s a party. So, they did away with the extension cords that ran from his room to the living room and made music a part of every day life.

Brock started recording with a Vestax 4 Track Recorder. (Yes, he still has that, too. Just ask him to pull out the old cassettes for you.) He was always into keyboards and drum machines. Before he could drive, he had to depend on his father and his good nature to drive him down to Evans Music City to make payments on his first drum machine, a DR 770 Boss. And his mother recalls driving him to Danny D’s old location on Nasa Road 1 and Highway 3 to buy his first 12-string guitar and his first Takamine. Having parents who support this great love was his first blessing. Having a wife who will accompany him to Danny D’s nowadays, even though he’s been able to drive himself for years is his other blessing.

Recording and producing were an easy step for Brock, whose brain was likely used as a model for building mainframe computers. With the Vestax, he worked with local rap and hip hop artists in Houston. Then he graduated to Cubase and started producing other artists and rock and country bands like Gary Flood and the Wharfratts, Don Tino and Corporate Records, Booker T, and Danny Painter and Meggie Wiggins of Lost2gether.

These days, Brock has been using Logic and jams with local artists as much as time will allow. His self-titled CD is on the cusp of release and many song-writing credits go to his wife, Michelle. She also writes his bios. ;)
