@Daedalus - Special Re: Quest - Labyrinths
Known for an allergy to 4x4 music, Daedalus' attempt at a little breakbeat-y number turned out to be a groovin', and dare I say it, cute affair. I thought it was appropriate to feature this somewhere in the mix because I too have suffered from allergies to 4x4 music, but as you will hear, I'm coming round to it. 

@felixleifur - The Sunday Club - The Sunday CLub EP
I don't know Felix personally but I'm sure he's a good guy. I think this track supports my assumption. The combo of expertly cut samples laid over a soft, wobbly, wubbly beat, and the lofi processing make it a subtle banger. 

@Linkwood_Family - Miles Away - Firecracker EP 1
Very little needs to be said about this Jazz weapon.

@Harvey-Sutherland & Bermuda - Bravado - Priestess/Bravado
To me, Harvey is rocking a sound that few other artists have. I haven't heard his kind of crisp, tight and thumping modern disco, with live instrumentation from anyone else. This makes me happy because he's on top of his game but sad because there isn't enough of it to rinse on my way to uni. P.S I don't know much about bermuda but definitely give him a shout.

@GoldPanda - Autumn Fall - Good Luck and Do Your Best
Another oddity, I was recommended this track by my good friend and talented musician, @LoraineJames. This break-driven sample frenzy, peppered with eastern sounding riffs, is a pretty and sombre mover.

La Freund Recordings presents a new EP from Amsterdam based producer and modular synth enthusiast Sjamsoedin. Three varied tracks and two heavy remixes by Simon Weiss (Rush Hour / Voyage Direct) and Claude (a.k.a. Fulgeance) form the new label’s second release.

Sjam Sjamsoedin has been around the electronic music scene for over fifteen years, releasing music under various aliases. Since 2011 Sjamsoedin has been experimenting with a deeper and warmer sound built around strong grooves, combined with his love for (modular) synths and effects. Orion is Sjamsoedin’s first full length EP under his own name.

While “The Drums” and “Pastel” find their inspiration in the Chicago house sound of the good old days, “Orion” has more of a lush electronica vibe to it. Both remixes add a heavier sound to complete the well rounded EP.

Abe Stupple-Harris - aka Brodsky - is a London based music producer, born and raised in Plymouth, UK. He grew up listening to whatever his Dad decided to play from his dusty collection of records. Music from Buena Vista Social Club, Weather Report, Dave Brubeck and a plethora of classical composers pervaded through Abe’s childhood before he discovered his own taste. When he got his first mp3 player, the pop music of the decade found itself on repeat. Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Massive Attack, Gorillaz and a little bit of Scissor Sisters were among the most played.

In young adulthood, Brodsky delved deeper into dance and bass music, fuelled by the earthy, local rave scene. Drum and Bass, Garage, Glitch Hop and countless other sub-genres deepened his love for the intangible sounds of electronic music. When he moved to London, his palette was broadened further with exposure to dusty disco and the sounds of the city’s biggest vinyl heads. Floating Points, Four Tet, Charlie Bones’ Breakfast Show and Rhythm section on NTS all served to influence the musical output of Brodsky.

Today, Brodsky’s goal with music has developed into tying together disparate sounds - found, recorded, or designed - to create visceral atmospheres and richly evocative productions.
