It all started out as a codename for a collection of tracks we’d signed from a select group of talented emerging artists, each with their own distinct sound and style of production. As the idea took shape, so the quantity and quality of the music grew, culminating in a commitment to nine separate EP releases. From that point forth our aim was to come up with a twist whereby each release could stand out in its own right, but also form a part of something bigger... 


So along with the usual digital download components, each release will have its own limited edition lathe cut 10” vinyl dubplate featuring our two favourite tracks, lovingly presented in a hand made and numbered ‘jigsaw of art’ card sleeve. Collect all 9 dubplates and arrange the sleeves in a certain order to solve the puzzle and reveal a single larger image.
 
But it doesn’t stop there…

Those purchasing the vinyl will also get a selection of exclusive bonuses, such as a free WAV download of all tracks on the same release, plus bonus tracks that will not be made available on the digital release, and the odd Project Mohawk sticker thrown in for good measure. Felipe Antunes is Young:G, the latest in a growing line of talented Brazilian music producers to light up the drum & bass scene. Having started out making his own beats in 2010, Young:G has come a long way in a relatively short space of time, steadily progressing with a host of respected labels and amassing production credits like a Philatelist would collect prized stamps.

Soularize is not a new name to Broken Audio. Having already featured on our Project Relaunch and Musical Currency compilations, he has demonstrated a diversity and range of production skills that see him equally at home producing dance floor killers, liquid funk, minimal rollers and even down tempo lounge music, all with his own trademark sound.

His contribution to the Project Mohawk EP series is nothing short of breathtaking. From the tribal eeriness that pervades Skin Deep, through to the gut wrenching Reece and arpeggiated chords of Tunnel Vision, and with so much more in between, it’s no surprise this EP has received more DJ and Press feedback than any of those that went before.

Following on from Medium’s hugely successful 6th chapter in our Project Mohawk series, we waste no time gearing up for number 7, and make no mistake; it’s one of the biggest.  

For the next instalment, we handed the creative reigns to Kaset. Already treasured as one of our brightest talents, he showcased his early abilities in the edm.com premiered ‘Contour’ from our Musical Currency Volume 3 compilation, but that alone was the briefest insight into what would follow. 

More a mini album than an EP, Kaset presents seven tracks of what we feel is his finest music to date. Each track stands up to objective scrutiny in its own right, but together they form a body of work that few can deny is seriously on point. This is an EP for the heads; the only punches it pulls are bass laden ones to the solar plexus.

With a raft of excellent music already accumulated, we move on to the penultimate release in our Project Mohawk series, with our 8th instalment only adding to the quality that has gone before.

Odd Harmonics may be a new name to some, but being one quarter of the highly regarded G.H.O.S.T outfit should set the scene on what sort of EP you can expect. With the full crew on board for the retro Virus-Esque roller that is Orbiter, and our own label boss Tony Consort on colab duties for edgy & minimalistic Middle Ground, this release retains the funk and old skool production values that so many still crave in the drum & bass scene today.  

With a selection of tracks that fully hit the mark, yet each offering something a little different, Odd Harmonics lays down a marker as solo producer of note in his own right.

Welcome to Project Mohawk.

It all started out as a codename for a collection of tracks we’d signed from a select group of talented emerging artists, each with their own distinct sound and style of production. As the idea took shape, so the quantity and quality of the music grew, culminating in a commitment to nine separate EP releases. From that point forth our aim was to come up with a twist whereby each release could stand out in its own right, but also form a part of something bigger... 


So along with the usual digital download components, each release will have its own limited edition lathe cut 10” vinyl dubplate featuring our two favourite tracks, lovingly presented in a hand made and numbered ‘jigsaw of art’ card sleeve. Collect all 9 dubplates and arrange the sleeves in a certain order to solve the puzzle and reveal a single larger image.
 
But it doesn’t stop there…

Those purchasing the vinyl will also get a selection of exclusive bonuses, such as a free WAV download of all tracks on the same release, plus bonus tracks that will not be made available on the digital release, and the odd Project Mohawk sticker thrown in for good measure. With eight EP releases spanning almost two years to date, our Project Mohawk concept finally reaches its conclusion with Part 9, and as with the music that has gone before, we look to push the boundaries beyond those looking for something to pigeon hole.

Owneath is a rare talent, plain and simple. In a scene that is famous for unearthing some of the best producers that can cut across definitions and genres, we have no doubt that he’ll go on to make a significant impact. Drawing on clear influences from the likes of Sunchase and Martyn to name but two, expect the unexpected is our main piece of advice as he twists the sonic landscape to and fro with a collection of tracks par excellence. 

With extensive support from the likes of Noisia, Om Unit, Mikal, John Rolodex and many more, this truly is a fitting end to the Project Mohawk journey.

Having recently completed our nine part Project Mohawk series, Broken Audio return with a new release concept that once again raises the bar; both in terms of quality beats and the physical format they arrive on.

John Rolodex is not a new name to drum & bass headz. A time served pioneer of the Canadian D&B scene, his music has already featured on a slew of quality labels, such as Metalheadz, Hospital, V Recordings, Dread, Tech Itch and his own excellent Machinist imprint to name but a few. A producer that’s not afraid to cut his own path rather than following the conventions of others, he steps up for his debut release on Broken Audio with two tracks aimed squarely at the dance floor.

Leading off we have ‘Oil Drum’. Like an 808 driven monster rising from the depths, Rolodex serves up one of those left of centre tunes you’ll often hear around 3am in a club that leaves you thinking ‘what the f*ck’..!? Honed with a background of near techno militancy and industrialism, it’s a stand out track for those seeking a fresh angle to move a crowd.

Hot on the flip is ‘Pixel Demon’. Almost a tribute to a bygone skill, Rolodex serves up his take on the classic bassline roller; sub laden, crisp breaks, full of energy, but all delivered with that trademark grit that marks it out as a track by an innovator rather than an imitator.

This is the first release in our new Illuminati series. Each comes with a limited edition & stickered 12” pale glow fluorescent vinyl, translucent by day, an eerie glowing white by night. A download card is also included with each EP purchase, providing free access to the full digital release once it goes live two weeks later. With extensive and diverse support from across the scene, including the likes of DJ Krust and Sinistarr hailing this as one of Rolodex’s finest EP’s to date; it’s more than a fitting start to our latest musical journey.

Hot on the heels of the uncompromising musical composition that was John Rolodex’s Illuminati of the Deep, we move forward once more with a solo EP of high quality music, and a new highly collectable format for those vinyl heads quick enough to grab a copy!         

ZeroZero are a duo on the rise. One of the latest in a long line of genre defining production talents to emerge from The Netherlands, Jesse & Sam have already amassed notable release credits with the likes of Shogun, CIA, Program & Cyberfunk to name but a few. Having released their Rhythm in Jungle colab with Teknian on Broken Audio back in 2016 as a free download, we sat back and watched it rack up over 2000 downloads via our Soundcloud & Facebook pages, clearly demonstrating it wasn’t just us that wanted to hear more from them. A solo EP project was agreed, and just over a year later, the results are in.     

From the gut wrenching Neurofunk fuelled slammer that is Syndrome, through to the melodic vibe filled roller that is Scorpio, the EP is a musical tour de force, suitably equipped to fully engage drum & bass lovers everywhere.

Bone is something of a Broken Audio regular; with a succession of tracks featuring on our Musical Currency compilation releases, we thought it time to offer him a debut solo outing. One of our favourite production talents, Marek never fails to impress with the range and quality of his Music, and in sending him away to conjure a club focused EP of note for this release, he came back to us with the sonic equivalent of a sledgehammer.       

The lead track Killa Sound pulls no punches whatsoever, the clue really is in the title… Looking for a gully Reece filled roller? Check Hollow… How about some old school break influenced bangers? Go for Adaptor or Second Chances… Want something a little more melodic…? Emerald is the one.
