Broken Stylus are the fresh DJ duo made up of Sydney’s Randomweapon (formerly known as Ryza) and Def Tonez. Brought together by their love for the broken beats, similar musical influences and a passion to keep it all alive, it was natural to combine the two to create a new musical force!

Influenced by multiple styles and genres, a Broken Stylus set can be described as an uplifting, “party vibe mash up” of hip hop, rock and dance. Laced with catchy vocals, a wobble or two and a generous serving of broken beat, you’ll venture through breakbeat, dubstep, DNB and other sounds along the way. Be prepared to be taken on a musical journey.

The Broken Stylus DJs have been heard in clubs around Sydney including the world renowned Chinese Laundry, The Arthouse and The Cross and have regular slots with Sydney‘s number 1 monthly breaks event Destination?. Having supported some of the biggest names in dance / electronic music scene such as Deekline, NAPT, Ctrl-Z, Skool Of Thought, D*Funk and Vandalism, you know it’s going to be one hell of a night!

Off the club circuit, Randomweapon keeps the beats alive on air, co-hosting the M-Shift on iBreaks radio. Airing weekly on Friday nights from 9pm, you’ll catch both Randomweapon and Def Tonez on rotation. 

In a time when breaks seems faded, and a scene quoted as “dead” by some, Broken Stylus waves the breaks banner up high and will continue to push the sound whilst injecting it with their own personal stylings.
