Hey, where are you drifting,
Quiet river child?
Under willow shadows shifting,
You wander for a while.

Three hours since we faded,
Four more till the dawn-
We’re tracing the same old circles
Long after night has gone.

Once I stood tall as the hillside,
Now I’m small as the dew-
But small is enough for this moment,
To sit here beside you.

I like how silence settles,
How time can fold away-
We share a little sunlight
Before it slips to grey.

So, wherever you’re heading,
No need to explain-
We’ll meet again by this river,
When the wheel turns round again
