Broken Chord Records was started in 2009 as NewShine Records by Ricardo Padua and Fernando Tames. Over the course of the years the label has suffered some changes and it's come to be what now is Broken Chord Records. The label is professionally recognized by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Science and some of its acts have been up for GRAMMY consideration. The label has received multiple invitations to attend the Annual GRAMMY Awards ceremony, because of it's close tie with the NARAS and because of the quality of their acts. Their main act is "TORI". Their debut single "Aviones de Papel" was uploaded to YouTube on December 2nd and as of right now the lyric video has received more than 100,000 hits, which is something for a previously unknown act. The label is currently based in Mexico City.
