My first video game track I made years ago. Need to update it at some point. Was inspired by games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Custom Robo for this sound. This was made when I only had Ableton Live 9 Lite, the trial version.

Beginnings

Another school project track for a duo of other classmates who were working on a game prototype called Walking Simulator. Their vision was similar to games like Stardew Valley so I took some inspiration from that soundtrack and Undertale's area/town themes. I tried to emulate how those sorts of track themes evoke a sense of peacefulness and nostalgia of being at home.

Overworld

This was made for a game prototype two students were working on called Walking Simulator inspired by Stardew Valley. This track is for a mysterious forest maze area the player would get lost in.

Forest Maze

Took some inspiration from Sonic CD's Palmtree Panic level theme which uses some latin rhythms like songo piano and a bossa nova-like drum beat. Made this just for fun and not for any game in particular. I imagine this music playing in an upbeat tropical themed Sonic the Hedgehog or Ristar level.

Coca Loca Zone

The fourth exercise from the Video Game Music Academy VGM Skills 101: Composition and Production Course . The task for this one is to write a 16 bar piece focusing on composing within a scale or mode. I've chosen to write in C mixolydian.

Hero's End - Happy Ever After

Concept for a new piece designed for an emotional video game or animated film like Inside Out.

Video Game Music Alliance VGM101: Composition Challenge 6. Create a 30 second electronic music track in either electronic music style - Ambient, EDM, or Chiptune. I can picture this being played in a puzzle game such as Scribblenauts.

Possibilities

This is part 2 of the Video Game Music Alliance VGM101: Composition and Production challenge 6.  Create a 30 second electronic style - Ambient, EDM, or Chiptune. I chose to write an EDM track heavily inspired by the Custom Robo gamecube game which has one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. I always wanted to make that kind of music and this is the closest I've gotten so far. Breakbeats for life.

Revolution Holiseum

Video Game Music Alliance VGM Kickstarter Course week 3 exercise - Use one of the 3 composing styles, melodic, harmonic, or holistic to create 8 bars of music. I first started with the bass line, continued with the drums, then a guitar lead melody so I guess this is the harmonic style.

This track is a drum and bass thingy that I could imagine being in a chase scene or something lol idk. Honestly, I have no idea where I'm going with this track 😅 I got stuck for new ideas after the 8 bars. Definitely not one of my favorite works 😆

Video Game Music Academy VGM Kickstarter: Composition course week 4 - compose an 8-bar melody using an unfamiliar technique. For this one I believe I might have used both large leaps(interval gaps)and passing tones. The vibe I was going for I guess is something like a sacred temple such as the Forest Temple from Ocarina of Time.

Video Game Music Alliance VGM Kickstarter: Composition Course week 5/week 7 exercise - compose 8 bars of music using an unfamiliar scale or mode and compose 8 bars of music in notation software

For this piece I chose F Aeolian which I believe is just the F minor natural scale. I went with one of the darker modes to accomplish a somber "game over" theme for when the main character dies or fails the level.
