In what has been a highlight filled career, Italian artist Eleven Of July has been prolific across the first three quarters of the year. Aprils well-received two-track showcase Avadavat would chart the course for Julys Thinner, an EP project which would highlight the summer season and find the Italian artist continuing to break new ground within his studio experiments. Also, flexing his prowess as a remixer, Eleven Of July would deliver a cosmically correct rework of Misbehaving by Till Antonio for Berlins long-standing DIT KLINGT JUT imprint. Now, following a contribution to Vision 3s ADE Sampler, Eleven Of July returns to his BrokenHearted imprint with the sprawling sounds of Recollection. Spread across two A-side cuts, its the title selection Recollection which further cements Eleven Of Julys dancefloor minded ethos with its dynamic drive and electric cadence. Anchored by rocketing beats and machine gun grooves, the journey tastefully builds to a wild-eyed intensity of striking stabs, haunted overlays and crystalline designs, carving out an energetic path into the break. With a peak-time focus that exudes spirit, Eleven Of July pulls from his expansive repertoire, introducing a sci-fi vocal narrative, tastefully intertwined with pyrotechnic stabs, as drums build towards a quiet calm and thunderous drop for the ultimate dancefloor rush. The release concludes with the equally enthralling sounds of Wild Embrace, a track where Eleven Of July focuses on the prophetic moods for which he has built his career on. BrokenHearted welcomes a new addition to its roster with the debut EP from O-BAND, the electronic duo formed by Vasilis Christopoulos and Alex Politis. Titled Mind Trap, BRH011 introduces a bold artistic vision shaped by years of experience under their former aliases High Senses and Midnight Pulse. Blending the emotive layers of melodic techno with the drive of progressive house, O-BAND arrive with a refined yet powerful two-track release aimed squarely at late-night floors and open-air moments. Following the success of his spring release Terra, the Italian producer returns with an emotionally charged and club-ready cut titled Hollow — landing June 27th as BRH012. Having already carved out a signature sound blending elegant melodies and refined rhythmic tension, Hollow sees Eleven Of July lean further into his deep, emotive side without losing the energy and architecture his productions are known for. The latest appointment with our BrokenHearted Livestream series in Thailand takes place on the spectacular Banana Beach. 

Sometimes called 'Banana Rock Beach' is not known to many people as it's relatively isolated. Nevertheless, it's one of Phuket's most glittering gems as far as beaches go, and has the aura of a 'hidden beach'.

The beach is 180 metres long and features beautifully clear water. At high tide the waves can sometimes wash up as high as the tree line.

Getting the release underway and sitting as one of Eleven Of July's most heady productions to date is the title selection ‘Asleep'. Warm punchy beats and a full pulsating groove set the foundation for a narrative of colourful harmonics, uniquely tailored percussion and shimmering overlays. Pushing a poignant mood into the break, the Italian artist marries ghostly refrains and buzzing effects across the expansive interlude, building tension and emotion with each successive pass, before eventually giving way to a finale of astral arps and percussion driven drama.

Rounding out the release are the sleek grooves and deeply compelling architecture of ‘Anziques'. Prophetic throughout, it's a collage of psychedelic structures and alien-like designs which captivate leading into the break. Hailing from Ireland and providing the fourth selection is Atóm (IE). The elusive artist shies away from the public eye, feeling that his identity should not be a role in his music, which explains his relative obscurity, instead wanting the music to be the project's sole focus. A short but meticulous discography is highlighted by releases via Area Verde, Polyptych Noir, Univack and Us and Them Records where his astral sound has flourished. Always looking to blend and blur genres, Atom (IE) now makes his BrokenHearted debut with 'Fragile'. Its muscular groove is perfectly sculpted, driving forward through a forest of electric rhythms, striking vocal samples and lively percussion. Continuing to delight with its unpredictable nature, the main break reveals a calmer sensibility as trance-like arps and heartfelt harmonics converge, juxtaposed perfectly before effortlessly segueing into a finale that is both tense and exhilarating.

Moving forward, Lucio Consolo and Agustín Buaon make their label debut with 'Fárrago'. Based in Argentina and following on from years of work in the pop and alternative music scenes, Lucio and Agustin have quickly established themselves in the world of organic and melodic house. A combined discography cites releases via All Day I Dream, Vesta Records and Steyoyoke's fledgling offshoot Inner Symphony. Now combining their extensive forces once again, Lucio and Agustin debut on BrokenHearted with 'Farrago'. Led by a warm pulsating groove, tight rhythmic structures and astral stabs, its ethereal nature captivates from the outset. Stripping down into the main break a hopeful sensibility rises, as flickering arps give way to growling sonics and fuzzed out bass tones, onwards to a striking conclusion.

[BRH003] Lucio Consolo & Agustín Buaon - Fárrago [BrokenHearted]

Selection two finds Shamans making their label debut with 'Valerian'. Comprised of Italian artists Alessio and Marco, Shamans first emerged in 2018 with a release via Three Hands Records. Quickly recognized for their melodic sound, the next four years would see the duo go on a creative swell, recording projects for Awen Records, Running Clouds, Timeless Moment and more. Now following on from their 'Trinity' EP, Shamans makes an impressive BrokenHearted debut with 'Valerian'. Dark rebounding rhythms and thunderous basslines set the course for snatches of prophetic vocals and layers of flickering percussion. Trance-inducing arps make for an irresistible sound of now, adding a lighter monochrome leading into a cavernous interlude, before ultimately breaking off into a hypnotic finale.

Presenting their first release of the year, BrokenHearted welcomes Eleven Of July back to the label for a new EP. Since emerging in 2017 Italian artist Augusto Proto aka Eleven Of July has forged a distinctive sound which focuses on inventive use of melody and rhythm, drawing the lines between global dance cultures without adhering to any fixed formula. On the strength of support from Adriatique, Dubfire, Mind Against and Undercatt, Eleven Of July has been operating at the heart of the melodic house and techno movement. The birth of BrokenHearted has given Augusto a home for his most sought-after creations, a landing spot where the Italian has already released four standout productions across a creative eight month stretch. Now, opening 2023 in style, Eleven Of July follows up last year's well-received ‘Asleep’ with a new two-track showcase entitled ‘Drived’. 

EP opener and title selection 'Drived' finds Eleven Of July composing with a strong sense of space. With each sound being an event in a slowly expanding landscape, zooming out to reveal a world of scale in which depth and contrast coax perfectly with rhythm and melody. Etching towards a darker monochrome, it’s tough kick drums and rippling bass stabs lead to electrified iterations of new age sonics, where driving percussive arrangements, balmy overlays and ethereal synth phrasing unite for a finale that is equal parts tense and emotive.

Meanwhile, the companion piece ‘Presage’ lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship. Building with an ultrasonic pulse, its smoky resonance eventually gives way to wavy arps and wispy effects, where textural and structural dimensions blanket rolling beats and percussive flashes, before ultimately giving way to a series of choir-like overlays, onwards to a prophetic finale. A thunderous conclusion to a fresh two-track odyssey, one where Eleven Of July carefully balances technique and musicality, thus continuing his tenure as one of Italy’s rising musical mavericks.

Following on from the success of 'Drived', BrokenHearted welcomes Eleven Of July back to the label for a new single. Based in Rome, Italian artist Augusto Proto aka Eleven Of July has been at the cutting edge of electronic music for the better part of a decade. Comparable to the path of the genre's elite artists, Augusto has found a way to create his own personal universe by crafting avant-garde club tracks, and ultimately finding a place in the trend-driven state of underground dance music. 

On the strength of support from Adriatique, Dubfire, Mind Against and Undercatt, Eleven Of July has been operating at the heart of the melodic house and techno movement since the genre's inception. Fully formed within the creative confines of his Rome studio, the two-track showcase 'Drived' opened the year for both Eleven Of July and Brokenhearted, a project which has seen the Italian artist go on to re-imagine 'Aquiles ' by Tchaka for his first remix of the year. 

Now, presenting the much-anticipated follow-up to 'Drived', Eleven Of July returns to his comfortable home of BrokenHearted with a special single track release entitled 'Life'. Superficially, 'Life' might come across as a classic peak-time dance floor tool, but it exists in a markedly different sonic world, as Eleven Of July crafts a narrative which is equal parts dramatic and emotional. Multiple layers of rebounding rhythms, ghostly vocal trails and tightly knit arps get gently woven around a core of beefy grooves and flashing percussive arrangements. The main break basks in retro-radiance as a nostalgic lead emerges, bringing with it anticipatory moments, before a finale of pulsating grooves and sweeping strings puts a cap on this creative gem. 

Operating at the peak of his creative powers, Eleven Of July continues to impress with his latest BrokenHearted offering, as 'Life' sets the course for what promises to be a strong second half of 2023.

Eleven Of Julys BrokenHearted opens the fall season by welcoming SH.AH to the label for his debut EP. Based in the United Arab Emirates, Shahi Mohamed aka SH.AH has achieved measurable success since first emerging in 2021. A release for UK imprint inU established a sound which incorporated a fusion of genres, from progressive to organic house and melodic techno. The next three years would see the Alexandria resident find his footing more in the latter, recording projects for Bayati Records and Somatique Music. Also an accomplished DJ, SH.AH comes armed with a proven track record of successful performances at some of the most renowned venues and festivals that his country has to offer. With 2024 already yielding a successful EP for Outer Space Oasis, SH.AH now adds BrokenHearted to his resume with Home Now. Beginning with the darker monochromes of the title selection, SH.AHs craftsmanship reveals itself, as striking stabs and percolating effects shapeshift atop muscular kick drums and chunky grooves. Its this menacing amalgamation of sound which carves out a heady path into a thought provoking break, one which proves to be both tense and foreboding. Roboticized vocals steal the air amidst billowing sonics for a prophetic mood across the interlude, eventually giving way to a finale of cleverly coaxed synth mutations that are nicely suited to the peak-time dancefloors out there. Beneath the arcane sounds of Home Now lies the equally impressive Explore. Here SH.AHs elusive production chops serve him well as he crafts a concise journey that is bursting with ultrasonic qualities and a keen sense of rhythm and groove. Flowing through shuffled percussive arrangements, clustered stabs and tasteful melodic fragments, the first act evolves with a keen sense of flow, eventually revealing a sci-fi vocal and anticipatory vibes which drives energy into the break. Not content to rest on his laurels, SH.AH pushes his creative boundaries further here, introducing further vocal deconstruction, as flurries of drums and a vortex of noise ultimately summons a huge finale to round out the release, with what might be SH.AHs most far-reaching production to date.
