Freeride Millenium kicks off its 2023 with an alluring new EP from Russian emigres Delicate Features with artwork, as always, by Daniel Rajcsanyi. Delicate Features is the moniker of composer Pavel Diakov and vocalist Radmila Nikogosian, a duo who have recently fled their native St Petersburg. Since making their debut in 2012, they have released music on this label as well as Cellar Tapes and Not Not Fun Records, exploring immersive soundscapes that invite listeners deep into their world. The events of the last year have led to the pair fleeing their homeland in search of a place that better represents their ideals and can provide the artist freedom they require.

It's a pleasure to welcome newcomer Hiroyuki Kato to our Flexi Cuts catalogue with a research-quality musical release straight from the other side of the world.
Hiroyuki is a DJ and producer from Nagoya, on the Pacific coast of Japan, who makes people dance at the 'Stomp' party, plays bass, guitar and listens to a variety of music genres that influence his sound and attitude in the studio.
In We Need EP you can hear samples, significant references to classic house, disco and even techno translated into a dance-floor key with a really raw and energetic feel.
A refined and at the same time impactful musical touch, which certainly makes the whole EP enjoyable in its various ways.

Stepping in for Kat this month is Hull’s Ctrl Alt Del events and podcast series frontman Danny Eyles. Over the last 13 years he has brought some of the best underground and minimal top spinners to play at his parties, and invited global DJs and artists to appear on his mix series. He’s also a producer with various releases under his belt, sharing label space with artists such as Shonky, Silicon Soul, Nico Lahs, David Squillace, Robert Owens, John Tejada, Ion Ludwig, and Ilario Alicante, to name a few.

Keeping within the theme of Kat’s self-titled “distant dreams” show, the mix delves deep down into minimalistic electronic sounds, so expect plenty of rolling percussion, wonky synths, mind bending vocals, spacey strings & breaks.
