The idea was to create a journey, starting with some early 2000s electro-techno and minimalistic stuff, then moving towards a more straightforward techno, and finishing with Goa trance and Acid. It’s like a full package of where I started and where I am now. The mix is longer because I didn’t want to compress it into one hour it needed a wider timeframe for the blend to feel smooth and natural.''

Igor Shtenge's journey into the heart of music began 11 years ago when he moved from Nikolaev to Kyiv. It was there that he delved into sound engineering, swiftly making a name for himself by skillfully equipping numerous upscale bars and restaurants with superior sound systems. His fascination with electronic music soon emerged, particularly gravitating towards a rhythmic blend of house and techno. This newfound passion led him to DJ at private events and undertake sound projects for L8 Park, marking the start of his active DJ career.

Now, Igor Shtenge stands as a devoted collector and connoisseur of house music, with a collection and musical knowledge that surpass his years in the field. He dedicates most of his free time to discovering hidden musical gems, aiming to revive the rich, warm vibes of the 90s. This era, renowned for its eclectic blend from Acid & Electro to Garage, Disco, and House music, is a constant source of inspiration for him.

Shtenge's genuine commitment and love for music have propelled him to the forefront of the Ukrainian House scene. Currently, he's not only a staple in the capital's house party circuit but also a regular at major festivals like Ostrov Festival and Kurazh. Additionally, Igor is:

A co-organizer of luxury summer parties aboard the Silver Wave yacht, known as L8 Boat (by L8Park).
A sought-after figure at fashion events in Kyiv, including boutique openings and famous designers' birthdays.
A creator of musical compilations for runway shows from local designers.

Over years releasing on his own Laconica label (as Alex Pervukhin) and more recently working at Carpet & Snares record shop in Lisbon, Sasha has honed in on a highly evocative, widescreen sound that draws deftly from his influences in classic tech house, breakbeat and hip hop. Now, on this new Carpet sublabel Nataraja — created for obscure, dark and experimental club sounds, downtempo, ambient and beyond — Sasha delivers four upfront and compulsive dancefloor tracks paired with four noirish vignettes, recounting a heart-on-sleeve sonic narrative about human contradictions: swagger and vulnerability, hubris and heartbreak.

Vinyl only. Lisbon-based record shop Carpet & Snares' second release comes from owner Jorge Caiado. Optimistic strings and sweetly melancholic keys bring a touch of wistfulness to both 'AP135' and 'Choices': the former matches skippy Detroit hats with deep Berlin bass in the manner of Derek Carr, while the latter draws from a rawer palette more reminiscent of 3 Chairs. On the flip, 'Tarradas' takes us into spacier territory, the almost-broken beat contrasted with a sustained background wash of synths and acid highlights, which S. Moreira of the Slow Life crew turns into the main motif of his driving, funked-up remix, finding a place where techno, breaks and house influences coalesce into a new, exciting whole.

Having started his career in 2008 in the Ukrainian duet Dub Makers, Maxim gained the strength and desire for a solo career, as a result of which the Bronxy project was born. Over the past five years, he has managed to collaborate with the Gipsy Music and Rodnya teams, to participate in several interesting collaborations as a DJ and musician, as well as to launch his own vinyl record labels called ÉTÉ, Elarum, Ouvert, Moff.
